A Marion County crash claimed two lives Saturday afternoon.
The Marion County Post of the Highway Patrol reports Kenneth Brewer, 66, of Marion was eastbound in a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country minivan on Marseilles-Galion Road about 1:11 p.m. on May 21, 2014 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the State Route 98 intersection. His vehicle struck a northbound 2003 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Angela Bloomfield, 44, of Delaware.
Troopers report Brewer and Bloomfield both succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene by Marion County Coroner Dr. Marc Comianos. Nicholas J.A. Colgrove, 36, of Marion was a passenger in Brewer’s vehicle and was flown to Grant Medical Center by Medflight.
None of the victims in this crash were wearing seatbelts, OHP states.
The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by Marion County Sheriff’s Office, First Consolidated Fire, Marion Twp. Fire, MedCare, and Marion County ODOT.
The crash remains under investigation.
