SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Occupants at the Apollo Career Center were evacuated Wednesday because of a disturbance at the scene that resulted in an unidentified man brandishing a gun.

The Shawnee Township Police Department received a call to the scene at 11:36 a.m. after someone reported a man with a gun. According to the report, a 27-year-old man revealed a firearm and went after several individuals in the back parking lot at Apollo. The report said that the man had an argument with another employee. It was a contracted company and the people involved in the incident were not employees of Apollo.

The report said witnesses observed the man retrieving the firearm from the back of a vehicle, when he then loaded and cocked it.

The man fled the scene but was apprehended by officers from the Police Department and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office.

The Police Department said the suspect had not been formally charged and that his name would be released after charges were filed.
