LIMA — As part of the first of four weekends devoted to cleaning up the city of Lima, the Lima Family YMCA annex building parking lot at the intersection West Spring and Pierce streets will serve as a clean-up site from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday complete with Dumpster for people to throw debris into as part of the City Wide Pride 2014 Clean-up event.
The Heart of Lima and the Riverside North neighborhood associations are teaming up to help clean up sections of Lima. They will help with the collection of refuse and debris and dump the material at the Lima YMCA site.
This is the first of four weekends devoted to cleaning up Lima. The remaining days are May 10, 17 and 31.
The city of Lima provides a free dumpster, T-shirts and tools on loan to any neighborhood or community organization that will staff and sponsor a community cleanup in their area during City Wide Pride days. Dumpsters will only be available at sites that have been selected and adopted by volunteer crews. The deadline for this year has lapsed. It was April 19 to reserve a dumpster.
