Bath hands Elida first loss of season

Hunter Wise and Eric Heffner had two hits each for Bath when it took a 10-6 baseball win over Elida on Tuesday.


Elida’s Austin Morrison was 2 for 3 and drove in two runs.


Bath raised its record to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the Western Buckeye League. Elida is 5-1 overall and 0-1 in the WBL.


[header]Columbus Grove 6, Ottoville 4


Joshua Verhoff doubled twice and drove in three runs for Columbus Grove in a 6-4 baseball win over Ottoville on Tuesday.


Joel Beining had two hits and drove in two runs for Ottoville.

Kalida 2, Pandora-Gilboa 1


Katelyn Kortokrax had the game-winning RBI and pitcher Sam Nagy struck out six, gave up three hits and did not allow an earned run.


Nicole Recker went 3 for 4 and Laine Laudick was 2 for 3.

Alexis Zacharias powered a two-run home run for the Bulldogs.


[header]Spencerville 11, St. Henry 10


Tori Johnson’s two doubles and Haleigh Mull’s home run led a 15-hit Spencerville offense. For St. Henry, Taylor Siegrist had two doubles.


[header]Defiance 5, Shawnee 3


Winning pitcher Anna Riggenbach struck out 13 and limited Shawnee to three hits.


[header]Ada 13, McComb 2


Ashley Sumner had four hits and two RBIs and was the winning pitcher. Kaylee Spangler had two hits and three RBIs and Megan Simon had two hits and two RBIs. Alexis Gonzaga and Katelyn Guagenti had two hits each for Ada (4-0).


[header]Allen East 10, Botkins 0


Erin Conkle, Alexis Wireman, Ariana Schmiedebusch and Chelsea Laycock all had two hits for Allen East (5-1). Schmiedebusch got the win, allowing only three hits.
