COLUMBUS — LaQuinton Ross scored 16 points before being ejected after a scuffle, leading No. 24 Ohio State to a 76-60 victory over Northwestern on Wednesday night.
The fracas late in the game delayed play for several minutes while the officials deliberated penalties for the players. Northwestern’s Nikola Cerina also was ejected. The teams shot 10 free throws as a result of the shoving match.
The victory was Ohio State’s 33rd consecutive win over Northwestern in Columbus, dating to an 83-72 loss on Feb. 24, 1977, at old St. John Arena.
Aaron Craft and Lenzelle Smith Jr. each added 14 points for Ohio State. Sam Thompson, who had not hit double figures in his last eight games, had 11 for the Buckeyes (21-6, 8-6 Big Ten), who have won five of their last six.

WILMINGTON — Senior Jared Horstman drained a 3-pointer with three seconds left in overtime to lead Ohio Northern.
The Polar Bears have now won five in a row and push their record to 15-9 on the season and 11-6 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Quakers fell to 15-8, 12-5.
The win also clinched a first round bye for ONU in the first round of the OAC Tournament which begins next week.

LIMA — The University of Northwestern Ohio improved to 20-7 overall and 16-5 in the WHAC.
ADA — No. 24 Ohio Northern extended its winning streak to eight games.
The Polar Bears improved to 20-4 overall and 13-4 in OAC play, while the Quakers fell to 12-12, 9-8.
Northern was led by senior Cenzie Yoder, who scored a game-high 18 points, pulled down six rebounds and dished out four assists.
