LIMA — Childers Media Group is filling a void in local radio, a show dedicated to issues of concern in the African-American community.
The Londell Smith Show will debut at 2 p.m. today on Lima’s 940 WCIT, Childers Media Group President and CEO Matt Childers said.
“We are certainly proud to have Londell join our CMG family and look forward to Londell bringing West Central Ohio a new and fresh local talk show,” Childers said. “We are a proud community of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Londell will be a great voice in representing our community.”
Smith’s show will focus on local subjects and issues within the community, and he will highlight subjects and features relevant to the African-American community, Childers said.
“Local, regional and national guests will join Londell to give West Central Ohio an open forum to discuss the topics of the day — large, medium and small,” Childers said.
A graduate of Kent State University and Bluffton University, Smith is the principal at Londell Smith & Associates, which provides college success and workforce development programming. He is also an adjunct instructor at Rhodes State College and formerly worked for the city of Lima and Bradfield Community Center.
“I am honored and privileged to have this opportunity to provide perspective, and the platform for community dialogue. I look forward to inspiring and encouraging the pursuit of personal, family and community successes,” Smith said.
The show will be on from 2 to 3 p.m. every Thursday. To participate in the show, call 419-228-9494 or 888-894-3776. You can also listen live at www.940WCIT.com.
