ARCHBOLD- The Lady Streaks basketball squad behind 18 points from Cassidy Wyse and 22 Swanton turnovers, broke out to an early lead and never looked back, rolling over the Bulldogs 62-24 in NWOAL action at Archbold Monday night.

The Streaks did not waste any time either, jumping out to an 18-2 margin in the first quarter behind three buckets from Wyse.

Jesse Fidler got the scoring going with a put back after three successful rebounds by the Streaks. Then, Cassidy Wyse added a steal and score followed by two free throws from Fidler and another bucket that made it 8-0 Streaks.

The Streaks pressure defense continued to give the Bulldogs trouble as they again regained possession and Wyse pushed the advantage to 10-0 with 3:41 left in the opening quarter.

Swanton did not get on the board until Kyleigh Ramlow hit two free throws to make it 12-2. But, Cassi Wyse answered back with a bucket and the route continued.

In the second quarter, Maicie Wheeler scored on a jump stop for Swanton, but the Streaks still led 20-6 at the 6:39 mark. They extended the lead to 23 after a Cassidy Williams triple, two shots from Cassidy Wyse and a score inside for Kayla Leaser from Williams.

Archbold held a 39-12 edge going into the halftime break.

The Swanton defense came out stronger to start the second half, not allowing the Streaks to score until nearly three minutes in. Williams ended the scoring drought for both teams with a mid-range jumper and Cassidy Wyse capitalized with a bucket after a steal, pushing the advantage to 43-12.

Archbold carried a 36 point edge into the fourth after more buckets from Cassidy Wyse and Cassidy Williams in between two shots from Swanton, the second from Allison Knepley who led the Bulldogs in scoring with six.

The Bulldogs only got outscored 10-8 in the final period, but the damage was done and the Streaks went home happy.

Outside of Cassidy Wyse’s 18, Williams added 11 and Fidler 9. Also, Leaser grabbed nine rebounds for the Streaks.

Archbold (11-1) will host Patrick Henry today.
