This week there are three coupon inserts. You’ll find Redplum, P&G, and Smartsource in this week’s newspaper. There are also some great deals going on. You can find a preview of the deals below the coupon lesson.

How to Coupon:

This week’s lesson is how to make and save money while spring cleaning. This is the time of year when we are all opening our windows to let the house air out and pulling totes of clothes out to get ready for warmer weather or prepare for garage sales. That’s nothing new. However, there are newer and better ways to make a little extra cash from this.

One way is to have the traditional garage sale, another maybe to sell things on Craigslist.com, or use the online garage sales on Facebook. There are many methods out there. A few that you might want to consider are websites like Amazon.com for items that you have that are still new in packages or eBay for new or gently used items or clothing. There are also a few consignment type shops online where you can sell kid’s clothes. Some give you cash your children’s clothing sells and some type of credit when you sign up, such as a $10 bonus to shop. They will have you send your clothes to them while they sell them for you. So, if you’re too busy to plan a sale, then consider this. Usually name brands sell well online so keep that in mind if you are looking into this.

EBay is a great place to sell new and used items. For baby, children’s and adult clothing it seems to work best if you group them together and see them as a “lot” versus one item per listing. For example, you could put five pairs of Old Navy jeans for toddlers on there and start the bidding at $10 or just do a “Buy it now” price. Be sure to include shipping or raise your price a little higher and offer free shipping to the person that purchases your items. Items also need to be free of stains, holes or rips. If there are any at all it needs to be mentioned in the listing. Also, Shout for set-in stains works great!

This is also a great place to buy name-brand clothes for your kids. If you know exactly what sizes they wear, this can be a huge money saver. I personally only buy from sellers that offer returns. Some do not, so make sure you find that out prior to any purchase. On the online consignment shop you can buy or sell clothing. You can see a few of things and a link to earn a $10 credit at www.StephanieSavings.net.
