CONTINENTAL — Mary M. Motycka, 89, died at 3:17 p.m. Dec. 27, 2012, at Twin Rivers Care and Rehabilitation Center, Defiance.
She was born March 6, 1923, in Paulding to Alois and Mary Kominek Dvorak, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 2, 1946, she married Joseph Motycka. He died Aug. 11, 2007.
Mrs. Motycka retired as head cook at Elmwood High School in Bloomdale and had worked at Heinz in Bowling Green. She was also a homemaker and worked with her husband on their dairy farm. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City, and a member of the Czech Society of America.
Survivors include three children, Janet (Ken) Niese, of Continental, Linda (Dwight) Niese, of Lancaster, Pa., and Eugene “Gene” (Nancy) Motycka, of Lima; six grandchildren, Andrew (Glenna) Niese, Julie (Rick) Hostettler, Vanessa (Junius) Frederick, Damon (Traci) Niese, Joseph Motycka and David Motycka; and six great-grandchildren, Christian Niese, Owen Niese, Cassie Hostettler, Zander Hostettler, Hayden Frederick, and Saxon Niese.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Alois Dvorak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City. The Rev. Stephen Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bowling Green at 3 p.m.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where there will be a rosary service at 2 p.m.
