LIMA ó Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Kohlís unveiled a remodeled store Thursday during a re-grand opening ceremony.
The store includes updated checkout stations and a new, expanded customer service area moved to the front of the store, Human Resources and Operations Manager Sharon Houston said. The remodel also includes a new furniture department, updated merchandise departments, new fixtures, updated cosmetics area, updated fitting rooms and new merchandise displays to highlight trends.
The remodel will give customers a fresh shopping experience, Houston said.
ďWeíve touched every area of the store,Ē Houston said.
Noting that the Kohlís store on Elida Road is celebrating its 10th anniversary, Houston acknowledged nine employees, including herself, who have worked there since the store opened. She also thanked employees who helped with the remodel, including many who worked overnight shifts to get the work done.
The work in Lima is part of a larger effort in the region to update other stores, including Troy and Huber Heights, Houston said, and was completed in time for the holiday shopping season.
Based in Menomonee Falls, Wis., Kohlís is a specialty department store offering moderately priced, exclusive and national brand apparel, shoes, accessories, beauty and home products. Kohlís operates 1,146 stores in 49 states. In support of the communities it serves, Kohlís has raised more than $208 million for childrenís initiatives nationwide through its Kohlís Cares cause merchandise program.
Attending the event Thursday were representatives of some of the groups in Lima Kohlís has assisted, including Girl Scouts, United Way, Samaritan House and the Childrenís Garden.
