DELPHOS — Michael E. McCall, 44, of Cincinnati, formerly of Delphos, died at 6:34 a.m. Oct. 2, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 28, 1968, in Lima to Larry E. and Sally Vaske McCall. His father preceded him in death. His mother survives in Delphos. He married Tracy DiRose, who survives in Florida.
Mr. McCall had been a regional vice president for Finish Line for 18 years and was currently a regional manager for Dollar General in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. He truly loved training people to help them be the best they could be. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Wright State University, where he had a baseball scholarship as a pitcher, and received a degree in business marketing, prelaw and psychology. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and had the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a game in April. He had a love for sports, especially baseball.
Survivors also include three stepchildren, Jim, Reece and Kami; three uncles, Ed (Sandy) Vaske, of Delphos, Joseph (Joyce) Vaske, of Columbus Grove, and Charles (Christina) Vaske, of Lima; two aunts, Susan Turner, of Delphos, and Jayne Vaske, of Elida; a nephew, Brice Keeling; and a sister, Kimberly Ann McCall (John) Keeling, of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by an uncle, Jim Vaske Sr.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for expenses.
