OVI checkpoint planned on state Route 309 tonight

LIMA - The Ohio State Highway Patrol will run an OVI checkpoint from 9 p.m. to midnight today on state Route 309 in Allen County.The checkpoint will try to deter and intercept impaired drivers, according to a press release. It will be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alchol-related injury and fatal crashes.The Allen County Sheriff's Office and Lima Police Department will participate in the checkpoint, funded by federal grant dollars.
