Fort Loramie A Darke County was accidently shot, apparently by his wife, while target shooting at a residence near Fort Loramie, in northwestern Shelby County.John Cranfill, 39, and his wife, April, 38, both of New Madison, were target shooting at a residence at 4662 Cardo Road, near Fort Loramie, when April Cranfill had a problem with the gun, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. The gun discharged, striking John Cranfill in his chest. He was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital, then was flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. His condition was not available from the hospital late Saturday night.The incident remains under investigation, the Sheriff's Office reported.
