LIMAFor the second time in as many weeks, the Better Business Bureau of Western Ohio is warning area businesses about a malicious email disguised as a BBB communication.“The BBB has sent a scam alert cautioning businesses and consumers about this email that is purporting to be from a bbb.org email address about a recently filed complaint,” the organization said in a news release issued Wednesday. “The email contains a dangerous link regarding a complaint and appears to direct recipients to the BBB website. This is a scam.”The BBB office advises anyone to receives this email not to open the email or click on the link. If a business inadvertently does so, it should immediately perform a computer virus scan and contact its IT department, the BBB said.The bureau further advised any business that receives a suspect email to report any information via email to cheryl@bbbwco.org.
