LULA "LU" HARTMAN, 83, died at 5:30 a.m. April 27, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center.



She was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Wayland, Ky., to William and Bertha Young Hicks, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 22, 1957, she married Raymond "Pete" Hartman, who survives.



Mrs. Hartman was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She had retired as a cook from Hardin-Northern Schools and had worked at National Fibers, Findlay. She was a member of Eagle Creek Church of the Brethren.



Survivors also include a son, Rick Hartman of Findlay; two daughters, Cheryl (Tim Crowe) Purdy-Crowe of Kenton and Sharon Hartman of Tustin, Calif.; and seven grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.



She was preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters and a grandchild.



Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Crates Funeral Home, Arlington. Pastor Tom Dearth will officiate. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Madison Township.



Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
